Tribute to Aretha Franklin.

Struggling pop royalty Christina Aguilera and powerhouse vocalist Jennifer Hudson
opened the Grammy Awards along with other artists such as Martina McBride and Yolanda Adams by paying tribute to Aretha Franklin. All the ladies delivered flawless vocal performances and you can see the video below:

Chris Brown Snubbed Again!

By now we are all used to Chris Brown using Twitter to vent whatever frustrations he has and last nights snub by the Grammy is no exception. The 'Forever' singer took to his Twitter page after he failed to win in all 3 categories he was nominated. After the show he Tweeted: “To all the fans!! I love y’all. Don’t be upset!! This industry is based on politics and asskissing! My only concern is team breezy! F*ck everybody else!”. It appears Breezy was convinced that he had those Grammy's in the bag, which I find amusing because there were more deserving artists. But chin up Chris, the Grammy Awards are renowned for ignoring real talent.

Chris Brown, Rihanna to Stay 10 Yards Apart at Grammys

The 53rd annual Grammy awards is due to start in just a matter of hours but its not going to be all that exciting for Breezy, the Yeah 3x singer is legally not allowed to come within ten yards of Rihanna as a result of his previous, ironically, pre-grammy um shall we say altercation! Although both stars are nominated for awards, a court order remains in place for the singers to steer clear of each other.

The stay-away order is a remnant of Brown's 2009 assault case, in which he admitted beating Rihanna in a rented sports car after a pre-Grammy party. Lets face it, we barely remember who won at the 2009 Grammy awards because the domestic altercation between these two stole the show last year. As a result Chris had to complete many hours of community service and his album 'Graffiti' performed dismally on the charts and commercially inciting some twitter rage from the singer. Both stars have confirmed their attendance at the awards show, Rihanna will even be screaming, I mean performing with her ex Drake.

Those of you who still bother to watch the hot mess that is the Grammy Awards can let us know how this little situation all plays out!

Trash vs Talent

So this is my very first post and folks it aint a happy one! I just saw an advert on television for the Grammy awards which will take place on the 14th of February, it is an evening for the crème de la crème of the music industry to get together, walk the red carpet and celebrate the chart and sales achievements for the past year! Simple enough. NOT! The process begins with members and record companies submitting entries, which are then screened for eligibility and category placement. The Academy's voting members, all involved in the creative and technical processes of recording, then participate in (1) the nominating process that determines the five finalists in each category; and (2) the final voting process which determines the GRAMMY winners. That said I feel the need to begin my tirade on why the most talented musician in the industry, with a career spanning more than 20 years, 18 #1 hits and the illustrious title of "best selling female recording artist of all time" has accumulated all of FIVE Grammy awards, while a certain thigh shaking screamer who honestly makes what I call ringtone music has about 15 awards. Clearly talent is no longer a consideration in determining winners and thus I have not watched the awards show since 2005! So imagine my surprise when I decided to peruse this years nominees!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Long story short, the situation has actually worsened people. In the category for Album of the Year, Katy Perry's Teenage Dream has notched a nomination while The Element of Freedom by Alicia Keys gets snubbed??? SERIOUSLY!
