Featured Artist of the Week!

This weeks featured artist is the extremely talented Camile Velasco. The American Idol season three dark-haired Hawaiian beauty is one of the most talented vocalists to ever make it to the top 10 but has sadly had a less than successful post AI career. Personally I wanted to see her win that season but instead Fantasia took home the crown that year and Camile returned home to her native Hawaii where she made use of Youtube to upload various covers. Her voice and tone is simply amazing! If you ever wondered what the end result would be if Lauryn Hill and Brian McKnight had a love child, well Camile would be it! Her AI rendition of Brian McKnights 'One Last Cry' remains one of the highest rated AI performances ever.

In 2009 she returned to the music scene with her single 'Gauva Jelly'. The song is a version of Bob Marley’s classic, “Guava Jelly.” The producer on the song: Marley’s son, Stephen. And the song was recorded in Bob Marley’s original home recording studio. Listen to the song here:

According to Velsaco we can expect a full album some time in 2011! YEAH.
